I thought the Cradle of Life was much better than the first movie. The Tomb Raiding bits in the first movie were alright, but the story with Lara's father was very lame, some of the baddies were ridiculous (Pimms and the Illuminati Boss for example)

What I especially liked about the second movie was Lara's training with Hilary, that felt somehow more realistic than the fight against Simon. And I liked the mixture of tomb (in Greece) and city (Hong Kong) raiding. The end part was a bit boring I think, but besides that, great movie.

Fans of the first movie, please explain to me how you could stand this "daddy I love you"-crap

I totally disagree when someone sais "Angelina was more like Lara in the first one" - lookwise yes, but the way she acted towards her father was so unlike Lara. And why did her father have to be a former member of the Illuminati???

The locations were great, so where the outfits, but this silly - somehow game contradicting - father story ruined the film.

Agreed. However, I still think films should be separate from games in their own way. But you are right about that "daddy" part. But they had to put something relating her to her past, didn't they?

Any other person in the family and a bit less "touching" and it would have been fine. And she would have needed a better reason not to destroy the thing at once than "wanting to see daddy again". Lara is far to intelligent and thinks clearly before doing something as silly as this.

Her look yes, that's what I was talking about... But in the games, you had ever seen Lara talking about him, or thinking about him. How would you know how she can act? ( I agree with that- the daddy thing was exaggerated...but she have feelings too!

actually the COL was better than TRLC, although both were great.

TRLC
-i liked the droid, especially when it showed "Game Over, Consult your Technician"
-it showed how rich lara was (you know, the motorbikes, the number of cars in her garage etc.)
-the secret room somewhat reminded me of TR3's mansion secret room

COL
-the best was the sky-diving escape from the Hong Kong tower with Sheridan (sounds like a tank's name to me)
-the way she spoke chinese was cute
-the movie shows that the MI-5 isn't as good as lara herself (no offense, any MI-5 members here. the story's a fiction anyway, so this fact should be a fiction as well)

i like the first one way better then the 2nd i like the first more because her gun belt looked more intresting she used tomb raider legend guns The Ammo Looked Way Better And Her Ouffits Were More Tomb Raider Lara Croft And It Weasnt Any Naked Chapters In It Expect For The Shower In Col There Was A Lot Of Kissing Chapters In col Which Is Why I Hate It More She Never Had A Plat On Her Hair Expect For The First Few Sceens Of The Movie I Like The First One Better

Actually, both movies were great, just the first one left more impressions to me. To say the truth, this movie inspired me to try playing TR games and made me a big fan of AJ.

The second, for me. The villian was much more convincing, and actually went to some efforts to avoid the Common Villian Mistakes. The writing was better, the camerawork better, and the non-Jolie characters better fleshed out.

i think the first one was better than the second, i think jolie played lara brilliantly.

yes agree with the father daughter mushy stuff being OTT its an action movie not a sob story

i think the second movie was to much like a bond film.

even though both movies were action packed i still think the first one rocks and captures lara well, just a pity like most games to movies they didnt stick much to the games.
