Hello all. I'm Ben. I've been a fan of the Tomb Raider series since it came out. I have all of them so far. I go so far as to collecting, AFAIK, all 4 versions of Tomb Raider 1. Tomb Raider 1 itself, Tomb Raider Gold, Tomb Raider Goild re-retailed as Unfinished Business and Tomb Raider Gold repackaged from the Eidos collection. I was not aware there was a Mellenium Edition of part 4 however, that's next on the list.
What I like(d) most about Tomb Raider is, quite frankly, the atmosphere of the early titles. I like how a lot of detail was put into the levels. That's what interests me most. This possibly stems from all my level building on Doom/Quake, what with always stressing detailing my levels to make them interesting to look at. A lot of games would have the same storyline of Tomb Raider but the effect given off in the actual levels would be a far cry from the accuracy in Tomb Raider.
Right now I've got an save game in progress on the first Tomb Raider via the ever handy Glidos. Ahh, what a solid game!
Another Tomb Fan

Moved for you Ben and welcome to the forums
So nice to have a lover of the old gaming days aboard, and i notice you dabbled with the Doom and Quake level editors, that sounds amazing as i have never seen a custom Doom/Quake game ever.. I am wondering then if you also had a go at building a Tomb Raider custom level? http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I have a Doom 2 level written for Risen 3d if anyone wants a look. I can explain more if anyone doesn't know/is interested.

The quake level is small. I've added on to it since those snaps but it's still small. I concentrate on detailing; adding stuff to door frames, faming pictures, putting in dectorations, making random shapes and having more than just a few empty rooms chained together. So by the time I have some size, I've rotated my hobby interest to something else. The doom snaps where everything looks 3d, that was ran through Risen 3d which has support for actor model packs and high resolution textures.
I will try to get some tomb stuff up when I can.

maybe you could build us a TR/Doom level
I'll package together my level, and some links to Risen 3d(you'll want to get all the texture and actor model packs to made classic doom look cooler by having a graphics twist on it). You should get 5-10 solid minutes of game play out of the doom level. I haven't added keys yet, I've just placed various weapons around the level so in a way it's easier to go to those certain paths first before to go on to other levels.

Do i use Doom 3 to play the level? http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/smile.gif
I'd say get yourself comfortable with using Risen3d and playing Doom 2 through it first. My level will use Doom 2 textures and items/things/scenery/bad guys so you'll need the wad for that. Get risen3d setup, download all the texture and model packs and use it for a bit.
