i think that they kinda meesed up tomb raider...first of all lara croft looks way different than the classics, they shoulda kept her original model...second of all,the "tomb raider feel" was long gone after the 3rd game...third of all,the places she goes are still kinda sucky...i miss the tombs, and all those catacombs she visited

i still love tomb raider but i just wish they would make them like the classics!!.....who else fells that way?

Well, who's 'they' are we talking about here? Crystal Dynamics? Core? Eidos?

It may look and feel different to other people because we all have different perspectives when it comes to Tomb Raider, i.e. some like the classics better, others AOD, some Legend, or others all.

Of course she's different now. You have to consider technological advancement over the years. Computer engines that built Lara in 1996 lacked many components that made the Tomb Raider Legend Lara. In 1996, when people first saw her they were amazed how 'realistic' she looked considering she was only made with 500 polygons not really knowing that 10 years later, people would look back and see that she was really blocky with sharp edges. As the years went by with the classics, Lara became smoother in each game. Then, in Angel of Darkness, Lara doubled the polygons from the classics which made her look better. That was only in 2003 where most people emphasized how again 'realistic' looking she was. 3 years later, we get Legend Lara which by far surpasses all the Tomb Raider models because today's computers can do a lot more than it did back then. As time passes, game designers keep up with the trend of smoother characters with realism attached to it. You'd be amazed the works of next-generation games.

If the developers kept her original model, I don't think Tomb Raider would've attracted more gamers/called back old time Tomb Raider fans. A 500 polygon Lara simply would lose the race in today's gaming world. In my opinion, I think Lara looks fantastic right now. http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I guess it depends on your definition of the 'tomb raider feel'. The 'tomb raider feel' for me is Lara taking on exciting adventures in different places with different environments. With the exception of AOD which Lara got stuck in the streets of Paris for half of the game but I believe Tomb Raider Legend took that feel back placing Lara in places where she's supposed to be. I can definitely say that the 'tomb raider feel' is present in Legend.

You see my friend, every gamer has their own opinions about Lara's destinations. It's really hard to please everyone, and I'm just saying this in general. Some people like Lara to go to this place and that, while others feel she shouldn't even be there. Tomb Raider Legend is dubbed as "taking Lara back to her roots" but if some gamers couldn't see that at all, then it's really up to them whether to accept it or not.

I personally enjoy every game because of it's different environments and gaming experience. No matter how many Tomb Raider games follow, it's very difficult to follow the classics, especially Tomb Raider I because that set the bar for the Tomb Raider series. If you are still looking for that 'tomb raider feel' make yourself aware about the Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition. Classics (TR 1 & 2) remade. http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I have to admit, I'd rather that more complicated and confusing tombs be involved, and that more of those weeklong stumping puzzles were around still... but the graphical enhancements have definitely given a new feeling to the series.

Sorry but this comment tells me that you didnt play the game to the end. Lara was in the streets of Paris only for a little time in the beginning of the game. Posted Image

Legend looks good but has very little substance IMO it simply wasn't challenging enough or long enough the time trials suck and the puzzles were rubbish the storyline didn't exist and the whole thing of changing Lara's past to fit in with it bugs me big time. I've played all the TR games for PS and have to say that Legend neither lives up to the name Tomb Raider or Legend CD really need to think again for TR8!

I agree with you 100% tho i played all the games on PC.

Crystal Dynamics making the "Anniversary" is just an excuse for non creativness or lazyness. Its easy to use something that someone already invented and just make some changes here and there. ... TR Legend is a living proof from this. :jumpy:

Crystal Dynamics is like a person who has a 100.000$ piano and knows how to play, but doesnt know how to compose a new song.
