Hi all!

As I did on other forums, I post here again a new bunch of screenshots from my forthcoming Tomb Raider game "The Spring of Eternal Youth".

First of all, I want to thank Moonpooka for her beautiful tutorial on the Spring demo 1.0. I know that Spring likes her very much, so when I receiv her e-mail I run here to ask if I could post some images.

This preview has all the new screenshots I had released in the last weeks, more some other from levels that NOW are really impressive with the drawing distance limit down.

Those 2 screens are from two levels released in the previous demos, with new textures and hi-poly objects. From Intro - The Beach:

From Chapter 1 - Temples Access

All the levels use a new hi-poly horizon based on the 3ds Max Skydome object. Every "SpringDome" :D use 128 hi-res textures. In the previous months all the levels were be subjected to a total gameplay/graphic restyling. Actually my betatesters team finished the testing of the first 14 levels, and in the half of August we'll start the final test.

The next images are from Chapter 6 - Temple of Frog, probably the most TR3 style Spring level:

From Chapter 7 - Temple of Monkey:

This level is based on a very old story of a popoular comics character here in Italy, Tex, the really western comic. All the White Palace is based on 3 strips appeared here in Italy in 1949.

I wish show you the new outfits for Lara, both made by deskj. This is the new South America Outfit based on the original made by Litepulsar:

This one is the London outfit, a total creation (except the head for both outfits, by Pu-yu Chen) of deskj:

These outfits have some more polygons than the original outfits, but deskj was so clever that the outfits react in the right way to all the complex lightning I use in Spring.

The following group of images came from the latest "big" level finished: "Chapter 11 - Goodbye Youth". In this level there's a total change of graphic style, with greek ornaments, granite blocks, dark rocks and, in the end, light effects "Tron" style.

Chapter 10 - Search for the Old Age is, I think, a new developement in TRLE world. All the level is setted on a huge XV century Spanish Galleon. It links for a small sequence with "Interval II - Teotihuacan by Night". The first image is from the stew, with gold and precious stones:

From the upper of the galleon:

These screens are really new, and I've never posted it before now.

These new images are from the final levels in London. Chapter 13 - Vanderbilt Skyscraper:

...and from the final level on wich I'm working in these days, Epilogue - The Triumph of the Gods:

Now, it's time to show you some images from the biggest level ever built on TRLE. Interval - Teotihuacan and Interval II - Teotihuacanby night are two levels that fill the ENTIRE 2D TRLE window. Now, without the drawing distance limit, I can show you them in all their largeness:

So, I'll leave you with a last image from the final level in South America: Chapter 12 - The Falling:

and with a rendering from the FMV totally made by me on 3ds Max:

I warn you that those levels, that uses many transparences and hi-poly objects put down sensibly the framerate of tomb4.exe. Actually tomb4 runs about 30 frame per second. In some levels like Teotihuacan, Aligator 1&2, Search for the Old Age, the framerate reduces to 19/22 fps. I edit on a Pentium IV 3,2 GHz with 256 video crad and 1Gb RAM, and at 1280x1024 screen resolution this is the framerate. On other PCs less powerful it's better reduce the resolution.

Soon I'll post new images from the FMV and from the levels I'm going to complete, so.. stay tuned! http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/wink.gif

Morning all! http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/smile.gif

It's almost a year I don't post anything new about this project. Anyway, a few of years ago I said in an italian interview that I would released Spring with one or two FMV.

Click here for a test render with default 3ds max Scanline Render and Radiosity. http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/wink.gif

If you click here you can see another render, but for this particular shot I used a realistic Light Simulator plugin.

The entire model is created with 3ds Max (but some little things I've done on Alias Maya and Modo). What you see in the renders is the complete model: I won't use the complete model for every shot but parts of the model and this one you'll see complete only in 2/3 shots.

As I said before, these are only test renders, in order to find the best way for the general FMV style. The entire game is setted to iper-realistc style, and, of course, also the FMV will be so. http://forum.tombrai...tyle_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I hope you've enjoyed those little shots. Bye!
