I guess all of you fans have seen and seen again this excellent movie.
I was surprised to read this story from ContactMusic, in which it is mentioned Angie didn't like at first the role of Jane Smith.

Let's remember angie has played in other comedies such as "love is all there is" (not her best movie I must admit, it was at the beginning of her career, but it's "watchable" whilst MMS is very good I think !

Yesterday I went for an outing to Belgiums oldest town, Tongeren (Tongres, in French, as we speak both Dutch and French in our country) and "Angiewise" I was lucky, I found the soundtrack of that superb movie, which I'm listening to while doing this on my comp.

Sometimes, after a movie, there's a television series afterwards; read this story I got from ContactMusic :

Hit 2005 movie MR + MRS SMITH, which starred BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE, is to be turned into a TV series by US TV network ABC. The series will reunite director DOUG LIMAN and writer SIMON KINBERG, but there are no details as to who will take the starring roles. The action will pick up six months after events in the film, with the Smiths dealing with marital issues in a new house in a new suburb while trying to re-establish their careers. Kinberg says, "In a way, the show is all about the marriage. It is a show about any married couple trying to balance professional and home life." US TV network CBS launched a version of MR + MRS SMITH in 1996, featuring a similar plot, but it was scrapped after just two months. 02/01/2007 17:30

There is competition everywhere, not always easy to find a job (I know a lot about that as I work for the Belgian job service), the same applies to moviestars.
Gwen Stefani was thought of to take the role of Jane Smith :
