Hollywood star ANGELINA JOLIE has spoken out about the death of her mother, admitting she is struggling to cope with the loss. The actress and her partner Brad Pitt were at Marcheline Bertrand's bedside when she lost her seven-year battle with ovarian cancer in January (07) at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Jolie - who adopted Vietnamese tot Pax two months after her mother's death - admits she still grieving after losing her "best friend". She says "I'm one of those people who walk around as if it's fine, and then suddenly I don't know why I'm crying over my breakfast. My mother was my best friend. I'm so grateful I had her as a mom. "She had cancer for seven years, but she lived long enough to see my brother and I grow up to be quite happy. You almost get the feeling she held on until it was okay."

It will take years to get over it, I know it, I know the way you feel when you lose a parent you loved. Fortunately, Angie has a busy and interesting life (both filming and working with UNHCR are exciting), she has her children and Brad, and her brother.

JOLIE CRIES OVER LATE MOTHER IN TV INTERVIEW
Actress ANGELINA JOLIE began crying during an interview aired on US TV this morning (23May07) when talk turned to the death of her mother earlier this year (07). Jolie's mum Marcheline Bertrand passed away in January (07) after a long battle with cancer. In the interview screened on Today, the Tomb Raider said, "I'm in a strange, I suppose, place in my life. I think that happens when you lose a parent, where you drop into a different kind of serious. And yet, at the same time, you want to laugh and enjoy as much as possible every day. "I'm hanging on to my family really tight at this moment, and, because of that, trying to be as good a woman as I can be in my life." Tears then rolled down Jolie's face and she said, "Dammit, you got me crying." Interviewer Ann Curry apologised and Jolie continued, "It's alright. It's a part of life... I lost my mom. It's a natural thing for a child to lose a parent. I lost my mom too young, but it happened. And I'm happy she's out of pain, because I love her and she's my friend."

1. Losing someone you loved is very painful and can affect you for months and
2. visiting poor countries makes you think and realize that we are over-spoiled. Understandable you don't feel well going to expensive restaurants knowing millions of ppl are starving.

VOIGHT'S RENEWED WORRY FOR JOLIE'S HEALTH
ANGELINA JOLIE's continuing grief over the death of her mother is putting a huge strain on her health, the actress' brother claims. Jolie's mum Marcheline Bertrand passed away in January (07) after a long battle with cancer. The Mr and Mrs Smith actress recently (23May07) broke down in a TV interview as she spoke about her late mother, and brother James Haven Voight is worried Jolie is letting the bereavement take over her life. He tells British magazine Closer, "She exhausts herself and at the moment she has a very low resistance level because she misses our mother so much and just longs for her all the time." Voight also reveals Jolie's visits to less developed countries in her role as a United Nations ambassador has significantly affected her eating habits. He adds, "Angie visited Ethiopia and it changed her life. It's hard for her to go home to a very expensive restaurant and order freely."

JOLIE: `MOTHER'S DEATH LED TO WEIGHTLOSS'
ANGELINA JOLIE has spoken out about her recent weightloss, admitting the death of her mother took its toll on her eating habits. The actress accepts she has been looking a little unhealthy in recent months but insists she doesn't have an eating disorder - she's just been mourning the loss of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died of ovarian cancer in January (07). The actress says, "I've always been lean and this year I lost my mom and I've gone through a lot." Jolie also credits the facts she has stopped breastfeeding baby daughter Shiloh for her rapid weightloss. She adds, "It's been hard to get my nutrition back on track." But she's upset that so many people have assumed her weightloss is cosmetic: "Instead of people saying I look like a person dealing with something emotionally, they assume it's because I want to fit into skinny jeans. "Someone saying to me that I'm thin is not a compliment."

JOLIE TO HELP DRESCHER BATTLE CANCER
ANGELINA JOLIE is set to honour her late mother's cancer battle by appearing in a new public service announcement with comedienne FRAN DRESCHER. Drescher, a cancer survivor, has founded the Cancer Schmancer organisation and she has recruited Jolie for an upcoming publicity drive. The comedienne says, "Angelina is supporting me on the movement. Her mother had women's cancer that she died from and I'm a gynaecologic cancer survivor and our organisation is dedicated to ensure that all women's cancers get diagnosed in stage one, when they're most curable because early detection equals survival. "So we're gonna figure something out. We're gonna do a PSA together."

JOLIE GLAD HER MUM FOUGHT CANCER FOR SEVEN YEARS

ANGELINA JOLIE is philosophical about her mother's cancer death in January (07) - because she could have died seven years ago. The Tomb Raider star reveals her mum Marcheline Bertrand faced death in 2000, when she was first diagnosed with cancer - and she's only grateful the French actress lived long enough to meet her grandchildren. She says, "I could have lost her seven years ago when she first got ill, so I have this constant mantra of, 'She's not in pain, she lived seven years longer than we thought, and I was so lucky to have a mom I loved and was so close to.' "I am so grateful she got to meet my kids."

THORNTON GRIEF ADVICE WAS PERFECT FOR JOLIE
ANGELINA JOLIE credits ex-husband BILLY BOB THORNTON for giving her the best advice following the death of her mother. While the actress was struggling to cope with the grief of losing her mum, Marcheline Bertrand, to cancer earlier this year (Jan07), her ex called to offer his views on death. Jolie tells Marie Claire magazine, "He said, 'You'll never get over it. It's never going to be OK, and once you accept that, you realise you never want to get over it.' "He said, 'Just kind of let it sit with you, and let it be a part of who you now are.'" Jolie admits her recent weight loss is a direct result of the grieving process.
