 Love the smilies here, hehe. Salutations, all nine of them...just kidding. I am a simple 31 year old male Catholic Christian art student from here in the Midwest of the US of A. Mostly farming communities and such. Sometimes I feel out of place because I am really into cultural anthropolgy and all and the only time that I ever travelled was during my teenage years. I do understand (or have heard) that Brad and Angelina are of fond the quite sacred Buddhist beliefs and traditions. I am as well. After TR Anniversary I can only hope they remake the original TR II as well as I like defending the Shaolin monks from the bad guys in that one, lol. But, as for my topic being reconciliation I have found a proverbial gem of a writer by the name of Thomas Merton, a Catholic that wrote quite a bit about his experiences with Buddhist communities and how they have worked peacefully in many places throughout the world. Ah...Siddartha...if only from a celestial abode you could send your angelic friends to help your brothers and sisters understand the work of the Creator. As stated, before my silly contemplation here, if anyone be so kind as to pass on this info to anyone who knows people who know people who know people who know( lol, sorry...) Brangelina, please pass on this simple little bit of info about the writer known as Thomas Merton. And, however you pray, please do pray that this lazy lout wil be able to find employment in this area that reflects my talents which are mediocre at best and that there will be a true and lasting peace in the midst of all of our families. In Nomine Patris, Et Filii, Et Spiritus Sancti. Amen. And when I have a chance to see Angelina's 'A Mighty Heart,' I should then say 'Shalom Alecheim.' And may God bless in an abundance this year, all who may read this post.

Welcome back, ArtifexExLumina, I remember you joined us on JolieCommunity a few months again, it's good to hear from you again. As you will have noticed, quite a few changes in between : TombRaiderCommunity and JolieCommunity have merged and we hope you'll like the "new" site. Really looking forward to seeing a Mighty Heart as well, I missed when I was in San Francisco, it was shown in a theater not too far from my hotel but it was late and I was exhausted so I thought I'd go and see it the day after, but no luck, it wasn't on anymore ... Well, I'll have to wait till it's on in Belgium but in the mean time I've ordered the book written by Mariane Pearl and the sound track.

Bad news ? Maybe. I don't like arguments, it's always better to get on well, but I understand Angie prefers (preferred) to ignore her father after what he told on TV a few years ago.
Anyway, no reconciliation in a near future (ContactMusic) :

VOIGHT DENIES JOLIE RECONCILIATION REPORTS
Veteran actor JON VOIGHT has again denied media reports he's made amends with his estranged daughter ANGELINA JOLIE, after the actress cut him out of her life for implying she was unbalanced. The Midnight Cowboy star infamously claimed Jolie was suffering from "severe emotional problems" during a tearful U.S. TV interview in 2002. The pair haven't spoken since. And despite speculation father and daughter are in contact again, Voight, who has yet to meet his four grandchildren, insists no such breakthrough has taken place. He says, "There's been talk about that, but we haven't been in touch yet. "I certainly send her all my love, and I always wish the best for her and the kids. I haven't seen them (the kids) yet."

VOIGHT LEADS TREE-PLANTING CEREMONY FOR EX-WIFE
Movie star JON VOIGHT is so desperate to get back into the good graces of his estranged daughter ANGELINA JOLIE - he has helped plant a rose bush memorial to the actress' late mother. The Deliverance star split from Jolie's mother, actress/producer Marcheline Bertrand, in 1976, leaving his ex to bring up his son and daughter, Jolie, alone. After years of estrangement, Jolie and her father, reconciled and appeared together in the first Tomb Raider movie - but they fell out in 2002 when Voight publicly accused her of being mentally ill. Voight has been trying to reconcile with his daughter ever since, admitting recently he has never met her four kids. And now sources suggest an odd rose-bush planting ceremony in a public park is Voight's latest shot at ending years of estrangement. The actor, 68, met with friends, including poet John Trudell, at the park near where Bertrand lived for a Native American planting ceremony on 1 September (07). Sources tell U.S. tabloid the Globe, "Jon made a touching speech about his ex-wife and asked the others to share their own special memories. "Jon got out a card, scribbled, 'I love you Marchie,' and had everyone else write a message, then tied it to the rose bush with a ribbon."

This is a sudden change; true or false, I don't know, the future will tell us.

JOLIE AND VOIGHT RECONCILE?
ANGELINA JOLIE has sparked reports of a reconciliation with her estranged father JON VOIGHT, after he was spotted leaving the New York hotel she is staying in. The pair have barely spoken since 2002 when Voight angered Jolie by suggesting on TV that his daughter was mentally ill. Voight has been trying to reconcile with his daughter ever since, admitting recently he has never met her four kids. A recent rose-bush planting ceremony in a public park - in tribute to his late ex-wife, Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand - was thought to be an attempt to mend the rift. And it appears to have worked - on Sunday (07Oct07), a grinning Voight was photographed leaving the Waldorf Astoria Hotel where Jolie, Brad Pitt and their children have made their home.

JOLIE AND VOIGHT RECONCILIATION REPORTS 'A MISTAKE'
LATEST: Rumours ANGELINA JOLIE and estranged father JON VOIGHT have reconciled are "a mistake" - according to the actor's representative. The pair were spotted at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on Sunday (07Oct07), sparking rumours of a truce between father and daughter. But a spokesperson for the 68-year-old star insists, "It's all a mistake. They didn't see each other all weekend." Voight and Jolie fell out in 2002 after Voight insinuated on TV his daughter was mentally ill.
